Small HPP put into operation in Armenian village

Yerevan — A small hydro-power plant with a capacity of 30 kw has been put into operation in the Spiritual Christian Molokan village of Lermontovo, Lori region, Armenia.

The PA Consulting Company, which is one of the participants in the project, reported that the project cost $32.1th, $22.47 of which were provided under the USAID Program of reforms consolidation and energy security, and the rest by Director of the farm in the village of Lermontovo Hrair Hovivyan.

The investments are expected to pay off in three years, and a total of $10,500 are expected to be saved yearly.

The small power plant is an effective energy generating unit for the farmer Hovivyan, who intends to construct a hotel and a rest home. This will reduce energy costs and enhance the competitiveness of products and services on the local market.

The project envisages the installation of another small power generating unit designed and produced by the KHRAT Company.
